The Colorado Classic Fishing Tournament is back—and this year marks our 5th anniversary, making it even more special. For members who want to camp, HPD will once again reserve the group campsite along with as many additional camper spots as we can secure. More camping and logistics details are availble to HPD members - Click Here
The weekend is designed to bring the whole club together. Thursday night will be a casual meet-up to talk strategy and decide where to fish on Friday. Friday is dedicated to new members and anyone who has never fished from a boat—we’ll sort out who’s present and which boats are available that morning to make sure everyone gets on the water.
Saturday is the main event: the Colorado Classic Tournament, HPD’s largest fundraiser of the year. Seats on boats will be auctioned to the highest bidders, earning the right to compete in the Classic.
Last year set the bar high, with new member Carol taking the overall win and Boat Captain Dwyne earning the Boat G.O.A.T. Award. After the tournament, we’ll wrap it all up with a group dinner provided by HPD, celebrating the competition, the camaraderie, and the support that makes this event possible. There’s a lot more to come—stay tuned for details and get ready for one of the best weekends of the HPD calendar.
This is a High Plains Drifters members-only event. The High Plains Drifters Fly Fishing Club is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All proceeds from the Colorado Classic auction — including the amounts paid for seats on the boats — are donations that directly support the club and its mission. Winning bids are made as charitable contributions to HPD, and no goods or services are guaranteed beyond the donated float trip experience offered by our volunteer captains.
