The High Plains Drifters Fly Fishing Club is hosting a members-only Stillwater Tournament on Saturday, June 20th at Tarryall Reservoir. This will be an individual competition with one angler earning the title of HPD Stillwater Champion.
This is not a team event. It’s you, your fly rod, and six hours to figure out the lake.
Anglers may fish from shore, float tube, belly boat, kayak, or boat, but fly fishing gear only is allowed.
The Challenge
This year’s tournament is a Three Species Challenge.
The winner will be determined by the highest combined total of:
- Snake River Cutthroat Trout
- Brown Trout
- Northern Pike
Rainbow Trout do not count toward the total.
Every fish must be photographed clearly for verification. At the end of the event, judges will review all submitted photos to confirm species identification and final counts.
This format rewards anglers who can adapt, move water, and make decisions throughout the day. Chase pike? Hunt cruising cutthroat? Grind for browns? The strategy is up to you.
