Top 6 Trout foods for Colorado

Spring is here, the hatches are building, and trout are beginning to shift into some of their most active feeding periods of the year. Our May membership meeting will focus on the Top 6 Foods for Colorado Trout and how understanding them can help anglers make better decisions on the water.

This month we’ll be meeting at New Image Brewing Company in Wheat Ridge for an evening focused on Colorado trout food and on-the-water strategy.

Our guest presenter, Rich Kidder, will be giving a presentation covering the Top Six Trout Foods in Colorado and, more importantly, how anglers can successfully fish them throughout the season.

Topics will include:

• Key aquatic food sources Colorado trout rely on
• When and where each food becomes important
• Matching patterns and presentation techniques
• Reading water and seasonal changes
• Practical fishing strategies you can take directly to the river or lake

Whether you are new to fly fishing or have years on the water, this presentation will offer insights that can help improve your success and understanding of trout behavior.
