Meeting Starts at 6:30 PM
Carp fishing continues to explode in popularity, and this month's Members Meeting features a special presentation by Rick Mikesell, one of Colorado's most experienced and respected carp anglers.
A Denver native, Rick grew up in trout country but has spent nearly 25 years pursuing the often-overlooked warmwater fisheries of Colorado. His passion has centered on the Denver South Platte and countless Front Range lakes and ponds, where he has developed an exceptional understanding of carp on the fly.
Rick will share the knowledge and techniques that have made him a successful carp angler, covering everything from tackle setup, rigging, and fly selection to reading water and locating fish. More importantly, he'll dive into how carp live, feed, and interact with their environment.
You'll learn about their incredible sensory abilities, how they detect pressure waves, vibration, and unnatural movement, and why seemingly small mistakes often result in refused flies. Understanding how carp see, feel, and react is the key to making better presentations, fooling more fish, and dramatically improving your success.
